This course prepares you to write the Small Advanced Exam for acquiring a Pilot Certificate – Small Remotely Piloted Aircraft (VLOS) – Advanced Operations and covers material on topics/subjects dedicated to TP 15263.

This course consists of three modules:

1. Self-Study: 8 hours - Covers material dedicated to Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC) and pilot resources relevant to RPAS/UAV operations plus topics/subjects dedicated to TP 15263.
2. Instructor Led (Online): 22 hours – Covers topics/subjects dedicated to TP 15263.
3. Knowledge Check (Online): 2 hours – Practice exam.

To avail of the $300.00 special rebate, eligible women pilot-candidates must agree to and fulfill all the conditions listed below:

1. Women Pilot-candidates must be at least 16 years of age on the date the RPAS Ground School (Basic Operations) they have registered for is scheduled to commence;
2. Eligible women pilot-candidates must pay the full amount of $675.00, plus tax at the time of registration;
3. Registered and eligible women pilot-candidates must successfully pass the Transport Canada-administered online Small Advance Exam within ten (10) calendar days of completing the RPAS Ground School (Advance Operations) course;
4. Upon request from RPASOTC, registered and eligible women pilot-candidates must provide a valid government-issued photo ID to verify their identity;
5. Registered and eligible women pilot-candidates must provide RPASOTC with a copy of their Transport Canada-issued Pilot Certificate – Small Remotely Piloted Aircraft (VLOS) – Basic Operations issued in their name;
6. After RPASOTC ascertains all criteria listed in points #1, #2, #3, #4 and #5 above have been successfully met, the special rebate amount of $300.00 will be refunded to the registered and eligible woman pilot-candidate within ten (10) business days.

To avail of the $150.00 special rebate, eligible pilot-candidates must agree to and fulfill all the conditions listed below:

1. Pilot-candidates must be at least 16 years of age on the date the RPAS Ground School (Basic Operations) they have registered for is scheduled to commence;
2. Eligible pilot-candidates must pay the full amount of $675.00, plus tax at the time of registration;

2. This promotion is only valid and eligible for course registrations paid for and confirmed after January 01, 2023;
3. RPASOTC's decision in all matters pertaining to this special promotion, or any disputes arising in relation to this special promotion, will be final and binding to the registered pilot-candidate;
4. RPASOTC reserves the right to discontinue this special promotion at any time and without any notice to registered pilot-candidates;
5. RPASOTC specifically disclaims any guarantees, implied or otherwise, that pilot-candidates registered for and completing the RPAS Ground School (Advanced Operations) course will be successful in passing the Transport Canada-administered Small Advanced Exam;

This course consists of three modules:

1. Self-Study: 2 hours – Covers material to help you prepare for field training.
2. Instructor Led (Hands-on): 6 hours – Provides hands-on training and tips to maintain and operate your drone, and prepare for the flight review.
3. Proficiency Check (Hands-on): 1 hour – Tests your skills and knowledge to maintain and operate your drone and prepare for the flight review, a requirement to obtain an Advanced sRPAS pilot certificate.

This course prepares you to write the ROC-A exam.
Having an aeronautical radio operator license is not mandatory, however, if you plan to operate a drone in or near controlled airspace, having the ability to listen to air traffic in the area of operations provides additional safety.
An ROC-A is required by operators of radiotelephone equipment on board aircraft and at aeronautical land (fixed and mobile) radio stations using aeronautical mobile frequencies.
If you are interested in obtaining the Radio Operator Certificate – Aeronautical (ROC-A), we can administer the written test which must be taken in the presence of our government-appointed Accredited Examiner, and this can be done at the same time as the RPAS Flight School or RPAS Flight Review.

This course consists of three modules:

1. Self-Study: 3 hours – Covers topics/subjects from RIC-21 — Study Guide for the Restricted Operator Certificate With Aeronautical Qualification (ROC-A).
2. Instructor Led (Online): 0.5 hour – Review of self-study.
3. Exam - Written/Practical/Oral (In-Person only): 1 hour – Exam to qualify for a ROC-A certificate.
